Welcome to FocalTutor. By accessing or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By registering for an account as a Student or Tutor, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms.

2. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Dubai. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Dubai, UAE.

3. User Roles and Responsibilities

• Tutors: Tutors operate as independent contractors, not employees of FocalTutor. Tutors are responsible for the accuracy of their profiles, providing high-quality educational services, and complying with local tax and business regulations in their jurisdiction.
• Students: Students must maintain respectful communication. The use of FocalTutor for academic dishonesty (e.g., cheating on exams) is strictly prohibited.

4. Acceptable Use of AI Features

FocalTutor provides AI tools (such as AI Study Buddy and AI Content Generator) to enhance learning and teaching. These tools must be used as educational aids. You agree not to use our AI tools to generate illegal, harmful, or defamatory content.

5. Payments and Refunds

Payments for tutoring sessions are processed securely through our platform. All transactions are final unless a tutor fails to attend a scheduled session or violates our service standards. Refund requests are handled on a case-by-case basis through our Help Center.

6. Termination

FocalTutor reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms or is harmful to other users of the platform.
